United Kingdom Wants to Leave the Restrictions of Covid 19

  • By James Kravitz
  • (General Dispatch) – Prime Minister Boris Johnson is considering dropping the strict measures of the British government’s blockade, despite the forecast of a third wave of coronavirus cases coming from Europe.
  • Boris has been satisfied with the immunization campaign carried out by the National Health Service (NHS), which has managed to vaccinate a large percentage of the population in spite of the blockades attempted by the EU.
  • Johnson sees this year with much enthusiasm as opposed to 2020, and promised citizens that the levels of restriction will be decreasing, despite the fact that at the beginning of the year 2021 he had warned again closures for the third wave.
  • The minister said that avoiding the third wave from Europe was unavoidable, but it will not be a reason to deviate from the proposed agenda. It is hoped that people in the UK can return to normal.
  • On the other hand, Professor Chris Whitty said that when the measures begin to be relaxed and everything returns to normal, at some point there will be another increase of coronavirus, but with the vaccines already applied, we can see a much better prognosis than the previous one.
  • Whitty spoke about the COVID 19 forecast for Great Britain “We don’t know if it is before winter or next winter. The variants are going to cause problems, there will be vaccine stock-outs and there will certainly be multiple problems nationally but also locally – school outbreaks, prison outbreaks, and all those things that people are dealing with in a day – today.”
  • Most restrictions are expected to be lifted as of June 21, but foreign travel blocks will take longer, where potential destinations for travelers will be evaluated.
  • There will be new rules from March 29 where travelers will not be allowed to make unnecessary trips; they will be banned unless they present some proof that justifies the trip either for work, legal purposes, among others.
