Fox News to be Sued for $1.6 Billion

  • (General Dispatch) – The Washington AP reported that Dominion Voting Systems will sue Fox News for $1.6 billion for defamation.
  • Fox News aired a report alleging that Dominion Voting Systems had manipulated the ballots in order to increase the number of voters and thus allow President Joe Biden’s victory over Trump.
  • News that made citizens who supported President Trump, enraged and further motivated them to carry out the attack on the capitol on January 6 causing 5 deaths.
  • Dominion said fox news “Sold a false story of voter fraud to serve its own commercial ends, severely injuring Dominion in the process” discrediting the corporation to citizens.
  • So far Fox News has not commented on the lawsuit, but its arguments said there was electoral fraud and Dominion was complicit in it.
  • After the presidential elections were held, different media claimed that there was no widespread fraud in 2020, including the attorney general of the Trump administration William Barr corroborated the claims.
  • Fox News detailed that Dominion had used certain algorithms to modify the number of voters, and even participated in the Venezuelan presidential elections to favor the candidacy of dictator Hugo Chavez Frias.
  • Dominion’s lawyer Justin Nelson said that this type of strategy applied by Fox News has been with the objective of maintaining its audience, however the damage done to the company has generated high economic costs, including death threats to the workers.
