- (General Dispatch) – The media reported that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo received $4 million to promote his book on his alleged success in combating the virus.
- The New York Times stated that Cuomo was funded by Crown Publishing for his experiences. The book, called “American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic,” recounts lessons in leadership in the face of the pandemic.
- As he had the draft in his hands by mid-June of last year, the book was produced in conjunction with his staff, maintaining ethics even though they held public office.
- But on July 6, information was revealed that affected the reputation of Cuomo and his administration, they had modified the mortality rate of nursing homes to avoid political conflicts with former President Trump.
- It has been an information that generated controversy in New yorkers since Cuomo, boasted of his leadership actions, including in the draft pointed to Bill de Blasio, as a “political opportunist who had ‘very little interest or aptitude for government policy or government operations.”
- That message to Bill de Blasio was deleted after the original version of the book was published on October 13, but more allegations were later added against the governor for committing sexual acts against his female employees.
- Another investigation was also opened to determine whether the governor had given some preference to his closest family members and friends to be tested for the virus before older people.
- Such accusations caused the governor’s reputation to decline dramatically, affecting sales of an alleged leadership book that turned out to be based on nothing but lies.
