Gun Ownership Among People of African Descent Increases Proportionately

  • By James Kravitz
  • (General Dispatch) –  A recent article published by The Hill indicated that gun ownership in the African-American population is increasing proportionately.
  • One of the sentences the reader encounters is described in the opening lines of the article and places special emphasis on “the need for protection that blacks have in difficult times.”
  • Interestingly, the article includes a link that leads to an image showing black people carrying firearms.
  • According to the data revealed, the cause stems from a self-defense mechanism that people of African descent have adopted as a means of protection against racist white violence.
  • According to the statistics, the proportion in which the acquisition of firearms has increased among Afro-descendants represents 58.2%.
  • One of the persons interviewed revealed that fear and anxiety in the face of so much mistreatment received for years forced him to prevent more acts of violence.
  • The study focused on the NAAGA and NFAC minority groups, perhaps much more vulnerable to racist discriminatory attacks.
  • The true cause is difficult to determine. However, all indications are that systemic racism has a lot to do with the projections, not to mention that violence leads to further confrontation.
