Litigation Against Pacific Gas & Electric Continues

  • By Joergen Haisem
  • (General Dispatch) – A long list of criminal charges were filed in court Tuesday against Pacific Gas & Electric following a 2019 arson fire.
  • In retrospect, a wildfire sparked by one of the transmission lines took place in 2019, leaving six fire officials affected, smoke and ash around the site.
  • The litigation takes a new boom this time because the prosecution presents new accusations among which the burning of 311 square kilometers, and the destruction of 374 buildings stand out.
  • Although the company assumed its guilt, the event was not caused intentionally. Officials who responded to the emergency are witnesses to the devastation left by the fire.
  • For its part, the company claims to be unaware of the report presented by the court, which specifies each of the incidents in which the company was involved, and the damages caused.
  • However, PG&E maintains that it will face litigation because the situation was due to an unintentional crime.
  • The prosecutor, Jill Ravitch, found that the investigation carried out sought the relevant evidence to support the incriminations, and is free of bias.
  • It is notorious that the company must face in court the arguments that took up the case, so that the judge can finally issue the sentence.
