Joe Biden Uses Another Legislative Mechanism To Enact Gun Control Law

  • By Wayne Rodrigo
  • (General Dispatch) – According to information provided by the White House, Joe Biden will use the Department of Justice to enact legislation that contemplates three alternatives that regulate gun control.
  • The regulation will be approved under a different mechanism than that of the Senate; in essence, the law is formulated by the so-called “red flag” scheme for the states, a stabilizing bracket that transforms the pistol into a rifle, and the control for the proliferation of firearms.
  • The deadlines established to make official the enactment of the law are stipulated between 30 and 60 days.
  • At the same time, the Department of Justice will publish a report intended to provide guidance to those in charge of designing the new policies that revolve around the firearms context.
  • However, one of the executive actions taken by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives addressed AR pistols with stabilizer brackets last year, abandoning the effort later in the year.
  • For this reason, the acquisition of the AR pistol brings with it a series of conditions such as photographic records, fingerprints and other related requirements in the context of subject identification.
  • Gun control is a fundamental element to regulate such a complex field that has represented the loss of human lives in several attacks perpetrated in the nation due to the proliferation of weapons.
  • In the next few days, the legislative foundations established in this new regulation, which is expected to be effective and limit the users to commit criminal actions, will be disclosed in greater detail.
