Swedish Authorities Arrest man who Murdered Woman in Broad Daylight

  • (General Dispatch) – Swedish authorities have arrested a 44-year-old man for the murder of a Swedish woman whom he stabbed several times in the morning hours.
  • The attack was carried out at a train station in the city of Linköping, although the motive of the attack is still unknown, the woman was immediately taken to a hospital, where she could not survive.
  • According to the media Aftonbladet reported that the man of about 40 years, was opened an investigation to clarify the motives of the fact, but for now has been charged with first-degree murder.
  • Although the Swedish media have not given details about the murder, the website Nyheter Idag, clarified that it is a man of Serbian nationality from the Balkan region.
  • The website reported that the Serbian man had a criminal record, armed robbery, attempted violence, violence against a police officer, and trafficking activities.
  • Malin Axelsson, Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor at the Linköping Public Prosecutor’s Office, said that all information gathering tools are being applied, taking into account images, surveillance videos from the station, and thus being able to apply a fair sentence.
  • Pierre Frennesson, the Serbian man’s defense lawyer, told authorities that his client stated that he saw no wrongdoing, and has denied any problems with the incident.
  • However, the media Aftonbladet reported days later that one of the causes is that the man had previously had a love relationship with the woman, but she wanted to end it because of the constant abuse by the man.
