  • By Joergen Haisem
  • (General Dispatch) On Monday, the National Collegiate Athletic Association announced that it will exclude from the championships those states that prevent transgender athletes from participating in competitions.
  • The association was forceful in its statements, and maintains that it provides full support for those students whose gender identity is different to be part of the athletic competitions in college sports.
  • According to the statement issued by the NCAA, the society’s policies include the incorporation of transgender people to athletic competition, which is why it is not violating any rules.
  • The NCAA’s purpose is that all students regardless of their gender identity “are treated with equality, dignity and respect.”
  • Likewise, the Board of Governors indicated that the exact location where the games will be held will be determined at a later date, so that it is a safe place for everyone.
  • It should be noted that the upcoming games will be framed in the receptivity and tranquility of all participants, free of any form of discrimination.
  • This is another of the achievements that the Board of Governors manages to consolidate so that transgender people do not remain on the margins of the rest of society.
  • It is hoped that in the next championship season these agreements will materialize and transcend in the years to come.
