More Officials to be Deployed to the Mexico-Guatemala Border

  • By Joergen Haisem
  • (General Dispatch) – A Customs and Border Protection (CBP) official told Breitbart Texas that more officers will be deployed to bolster border security.
  • White House Secretary Jen Psaki said that 300 officers will be deployed in order to address the ongoing crisis at the border with the influx of countless immigrants.
  • The officials are expected to gather information and provide advice to try to reduce and further secure the area, after various cartels have taken advantage of the weak surveillance.
  • Psaki said the Biden administration has been trying to further secure the area in conjunction with Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala. Mexico has deployed about 10,000 military personnel.
  • Honduras said it will add 7,000 police and military personnel, Guatemala 1,500 police along the southern border, and a large number of checkpoints.
  • According to Psaki these measures will considerably reduce the entry of immigrants and thus affect the cartels that have profited from this crisis.
  • However, the Secretary only talked about security, and did not address the issue of unaccompanied children crossing the border.
