Indian Citizens Complain About not Being Vaccinated

  • (General Dispatch) – The Indian government has boasted about the large quantity of Chinese vaccines it has exported to more than 80 countries while its citizens complain about the immunization campaign.
  • “During this pandemic, in our own humble way, within our own limited resources, we in India have tried to preach. We have tried to protect our own 1.3 billion citizens from the pandemic. At the same time, we have also tried to support the pandemic response efforts of others,” said Indian Minister Narendra Modi.
  • The national media has publicized the annoyance at the inefficient vaccination process by the Indian health ministry, where the demand for doses has been high.
  • It has been reported that New Delhi’s priority is to attend to problems in other countries, while citizens are left unprotected in the face of an accelerated spread of the Chinese coronavirus.
  • According to the Times of India, a citizen said that this week the hospital centers that provide immunization services have run out of supplies to be able to administer the second dose.
  • Although this information was denied by the immunization representative of the state of Assam, Munindra Nath Ngatey, he said that at no time has any order been issued to stop the administration of the vaccine.
  • However, the immunization officer of Assam’s Dibrugarh district higher dis later asked private hospital centers to deny anyone immunization for the first dose.
  • So far India has created two vaccine candidates Covaxin, produced by the company Bharat Biotech and the other Covishield, in partnership with Oxford University and the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca.
