- (General Dispatch) – According to a statement Facebook plans to create a new version of Instagram exclusively for minors, since the current one does not allow user creation unless you are older than 13 years.
- BuzzFeed News said the project is being evaluated so that children under 13 can interact by sharing photos or messaging between users of the same age.
- The move follows an update to Instagram prohibits adults from interacting directly with minors via messaging.
- Instagram’s vice president of product, Vishal Shah said that with this project he hopes to focus on two key points. “Accelerate our integrity and privacy work to ensure the safest possible experience for teens.”
