New York Governor Cuomo Denies Sexual Allegations Against Him

  • By Wayne Rodrigo
  • (General Dispatch) – New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has denied sexual allegations against him, contradicting himself after previously saying he was sorry for his behavior in making some of his employees feel uncomfortable.
  • The governor made the statement Monday at the State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, even though some female employees have been accusing him of inappropriate behavior against them for months.
  • Cuomo said he can’t be blamed for anything, the report delivered by the Democratic state attorney general, Letitia James, absolves him of any accusations against him.
  • However, a journalist raised a complaint because the governor at a party at the Executive Mansion in 2012, placed his arm around the woman for several minutes and while talking to her demonstrated an inappropriate attitude.
  • “I stood there, cheeks hot, laughing nervously as my male colleagues did the same. We all knew it was wrong, but we did nothing” said Jessica Bakeman.
  • Although the journalist, upon noticing Cuomo’s attitude, preferred to walk away, the governor nevertheless kept her by the hand, bringing her body closer to him, with the excuse of posing for a photo with her.
  • On the other hand, another woman who preferred to remain anonymous, for her safety, said that the governor had groped her, in a meeting that had taken place in the mansion.
  • Now, Cuomo’s denial and position on the issue is to deny all accusations against him, and says he did not think his attitude and comments could make those women who have been close to him feel so sensitive.
