Vaccine Passports will Accelerate Discrimination, study finds

  • (General Dispatch) –  The CEO of a statistics company reported that vaccine passports would be a bad bet as they could lead to high discrimination against those who have not been immunized.
  • Rob Shavell, co-founder and CEO of online privacy company Abine, said that the decisions being made by EU governments supported by Ursula von der Leyen are not correct, claiming that they are taking hasty measures and are not measuring the consequences that these could cause.
  • “Time and time again governments say they are providing a data service to their citizens and claim it will be protected, but what we see is that this information ends up in the data profiles available in Google searches” said Rob.
  • DeleteMe’s CEO stated that when uploading person data to the network there are endless possibilities for that information to be leaked, the vaccine passport will create a divide in society.
  • Rob Shavell is concerned that this system may limit people or allow them access to different services, the vaccine passport or “green pass” will classify and confine society into different groups, creating a situation of conflict.
  • Even if the countries say that the information will not be identifiable, people will be able to identify themselves because the passport will show their country of origin and address, and according to what the media say, it will be possible to deduce possible conclusions as to whether they are vaccinated or not.
  • In conclusion, the EU and Great Britain are trying to find other systems apart from the vaccination passports, according to which it will only be implemented for those people who wish to travel, but the nations are evaluating whether to use it for other types of services.
