Leftist Politicians Ignore Protest Over Murder of Jewish Woman Sarah Halimi

  • By Joergen Haisem
  • (General Dispatch) – Christophe Castaner, the former French Minister of the Interior, was insulted in front of a large number of protesters in defense of the murder of the Jewish woman Sarah Halimi.
  • The French justice system let free the murderer of the 65 year old Jewish woman, supposedly because the man was excessively drugged, and had no use of reason, for that reason there was no need to condemn him.
  • Local media claimed that around 20,000 people attended the protest in the streets of Paris; however the French weekly L’Obs said that in other cities, even countries raised their voices in defense of Halimi.
  • Although Castaner wanted to support the protest, he was not well received by the demonstrators, the policies imposed by Emmanuel Macron have been reducing his popularity, due to the conflicts he has with the Muslim community.
  • The protests began to be generated later when the superior court of Paris ruled that the murderer Kobili Traoré, would be released despite previous trials were evaluated to send him to a psychiatric center.
  • Mario Stasi, president of Licra (the International League against Racism and Anti-Semitism), requested that a street in Paris be named after Halimi, a proposal supported by Mayor Anne Hidalgo.
  • “We do not understand the determination and procrastination that constantly seeks to turn this murderer into an insane person, when he is a murderer whose alleged arrest does not even hide his hateful anti-Semitism” said a member of the Jewish group CRIF.
  • So far the authorities have not commented on the matter; however the murderer will remain at large while Halimi’s family continues to call for justice.
