- (General Dispatch) – The Global Times media complained about Senators Ted Cruz and Mitt Romney after they tried to prevent the Winter Olympics to be held in Beijing in 2022.
- Groups have been rallying to prevent the Olympics from being held in Beijing after the CCP is committing genocide against a small ethnic group in northwest China called “Uighurs”.
- President Donald Trump and Biden have accused China of committing atrocities on the ethnic group with rape, castration; murder and enslavement, as the Uighurs have been reluctant to accept Chinese indoctrination.
- The global Times charged that the senators are not acting in good faith, and that there is a double standard in saying that “American athletes deserve to participate in the event but that would imply that the Uyghur people’s complaints are being ignored”.
- The media outlet referred to senators who “believe they are noble in the face of China with an edge in so-called values, but their complacency in this very nobility makes them look increasingly shallow. In their eyes, using every possible means to repress China is their way of behaving. Politicizing social agendas, whether sports or vaccines, has become a typical approach.”
- Global Times has said that there is a planning behind all this, in order to generate some kind of problem that will complicate the development of the event, on the other hand Senator Cruz pointed to China as a killer, telling participants not to be intimidated in sports practices.
- In conclusion, the global times warned that they will not allow the senators or any other US official to issue this kind of opinions, after the Olympic Games represent the union of five continents that compete against each other, representing a tradition practiced for decades, being one of the few positive activities that take place in the world.
