- (General Dispatch) – Joe Biden made a speech where he announced that around 500,000 Americans have died as a result of the coronavirus, and it was necessary to honor the large number of deaths, this being one of the nations with the most deaths in the world due to Covid – 19.
- Biden gave a great speech full of patriotic sentiment, where he praised every American who died from the virus, as well as blaming “politics and misinformation” for the large number of deaths in the country.
- “We must put an end to the politics and misinformation that has divided families and communities across the country and has already cost too many lives.” the president said.
- The US president did not dare to mention the Chinese communist country, the failure it has had worldwide by not having actions and solutions to prevent the spread of the virus, nor did he praise the effectiveness of the United States in having created the vaccine in record time.
- Biden tried to empathize and give a speech for all those who have suffered losses due to the virus, and invited them to follow a new path where they must continue to fight for the nation.
- The White House leader asked the public to continue to comply with safety regulations in order to prevent the spread of the virus, as well as to be patient while the vaccines are delivered to each of the country’s inhabitants.
- The head of state encouraged Americans in his speech saying, “While we are humbled, we have never given up, we are America, we can and we will do this” implying that soon the pandemic could be over.
- After the speech, Biden left with the First Lady for a moment of silence in front of the candles to the tune of “Amazing Grace” honoring the deceased on the steps of the south portico of the White House.
