After Being Accused of Violating Human Rights, Venezuela’s President Returns To The UN

  • By John Delorian
  • (General Dispatch) – The United Nations Human Rights Council has once again accepted Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro, who has been accused of committing crimes against humanity, into its organization.
  • An investigator from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) found evidence to blame Maduro for committing crimes against humanity, the most serious crimes being rape, murder, torture and slavery, outside the context of war.
  • Despite the fact that many nations do not recognize Maduro as the legitimate president of Venezuela since January 2019, the UN had no objection to accept him back into the organization, having other nations under regime such as Russia, China, Cuba, Libya and Pakistan.
  • Maduro at the UN boasted that the methods applied in the prevention of the coronavirus in Venezuela have been effective without presenting verifiable data on the matter. He also took the opportunity to refer to the US and accuse them of wanting to change the world system.
  • The leader of the Venezuelan regime referred to world leaders, assuring that a greater commitment must be made for all the damage caused by Covid 19, and to work together on the basis that health must be a fundamental human right. “Working together is the only way out of such major conflicts worldwide,” he said.
  • The dictator applauded himself for the work he has done against covid 19, and congratulated the world health organization WHO, whose management has been strongly criticized for not disclosing transparent mortality rate figures resulting from the pandemic.
  • The president announced 136,068 cases and 1,316 deaths attributable to the coronavirus, which is a questionable figure when countries bordering Venezuela such as Brazil and Colombia have millions of people who have been infected by the virus.
  • The dictator has been branded with a large list of violations since 2014,yet he affirmed that he will work hand in hand with the UN and will not accept any kind of interference from another country that wants to get involved in state affairs, in order to affect the progress they have again with the high commissioner for human rights.
