Biden Blames Barack Obama for Underselling 2009 Stimulus Bill

  • By Wayne Rodrigo
  • (General Dispatch) – President Joe Biden blamed his counterpart and fellow party member Barack Obama for mis-selling the 2009 stimulus bill.
  • In a conference Wednesday night, the current president of the United States spoke about the law and claimed that economists let them know that they saved the United States from an economic depression with the propulsion of the law.
  • The current president who was the vice president of the Obama administration showed regret, and assured that it was regrettable that the then president did not give him the support he needed.
  • “We didn’t adequately explain what we had done, Barack was so modest, he didn’t want to take, as he said, a ‘victory lap.'” Biden said
  • Biden continued “I kept saying, Tell people what we did, and he said, We don’t have time. I’m not going to take a victory lap. And we paid a price for it, ironically, for that humility.”
  • “I know parts of this – and everything else we seek to do – are not easy, but people are going to remember how we showed up in this moment, how we listened to them – to them – not special interests; to them – and how we took action,” Biden finished
  • The president asserted that the Democratic Party had an opportunity to capitalize on this situation and did not do so because it did not want to promote the idea.
  • Americans are still waiting to see what Biden’s economic proposals will be for the future, even more so coming from a rising economy that was one of the strengths of the past administration.
