- (General Dispatch) – Celebrity actor Will Smith made an appearance on the Pod Save America podcast, hosted by former President Obama with Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer and Tommy Vietor and said it is a possibility at some point in the future that he will run for political office.
- “I think for now I’ll let that office get cleaned up a little bit and then I’ll consider that at some point down the line,” Smith said.
- “I don’t know, it’s like, I absolutely have an opinion, I’m optimistic, I’m hopeful, I believe in understanding between people and I believe in the possibility of harmony,”
- “Certainly do my part, whether it remains artistic or, or, at some point ventures into the political arena.” Smith sentenced
- This is not the first time the actor has hinted at his political ambitions as he previously spoke about the possibility of running for office during the 2016 presidential campaign.
- The Hollywood star was one of the strongest critics of the Trump administration, assuring multiple times that he was an embarrassment to Americans.
- Smith joins the list of Hollywood artists who will reportedly opt in the not too distant future for political office, joining Dwayne Jhonson and rapper Kanye West who already vied for the presidency in 2020.
- Will Smith is one of the most loved and acclaimed actors by the public, he enjoys popularity and charisma to reach an important political position. It only remains to wait when the time is right for him to do so.
