- (General Dispatch) – It was reported that they have detained about 10,000 migrants who tried to cross the border into the U.S. in a sector of Texas; Representative Henry Cuellar has been surprised at the large number of immigrants who are trying to cross the border.
- Congressman Laredo said that this situation exposes the border patrol to the virus, since undocumented people are not being tested for COVID 19.
- In Brownsville, Texas citizens have complained that many of the immigrants have been released into the country, but there is no regulation requiring immigrants to be tested for COVID 19.
- Rep. Cuellar “Urged the Biden Administration to listen to and work with the southern border communities that are dealing with the surge of migrants.”
- “The Biden Administration was spreading COVID in South Texas yesterday due to its failure to restrict testing and quarantine, people who had crossed the border illegally” said Governor Greg Abbott.
- Texas Governor Abbott complained about Biden who had referred to Texas as a state that has “Neanderthal thinking” for lifting sanctions and opening businesses 100% and not requiring the use of masks.
- A measure that may come into discussion, if it continues to allow the transit of immigrants who may be positive.
- So far we are waiting for the figures of the people detained in the month of February through the office of Customs and Border Protection.
