UK in Trouble with High Migration

  • By Jennifer Prill
  • (General Dispatch) –  The English Channel continues to generate controversy, when the authorities transferred 100 migrants to England, reaching a new record number of undocumented migrants who have tried to cross in just one day.
  • The Ministry of the Interior captured around 115 migrants who were moving in small boats, further aggravating the border situation of Britain, which had left the EU at the beginning of the first quarter of 2021.
  • French authorities have received £28 million in funding to increase security at the border and prevent migrants from crossing. 38 people have now been caught on their way to the UK.
  • At the beginning of this year around 223 migrants were recorded, but this figure almost doubled in February, when weather conditions favored migrants trying to cross the English Channel.
  • Last year Breitbart London reported that there were also gangs that were in charge of scamming migrants by offering them services to try to cross the border, regardless of how dangerous and the consequences it could bring.
  • “They are crossing in boats and surfboards, which frankly shouldn’t be in the water. The human traffickers are completely ruthless. There are a lot more people lost at sea than we think. This is due to the strong currents in the Channel and, in particular, in the North Sea,” said the national lifeboat institution.
  • In view of the migration crisis that began since last year former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott asked Boris Johnson, to apply even stronger measures at the border, such as Australia’s, called “Operation Sovereign Borders”.
  • Abbott advised Minister Boris that he should “Be tough to be fair, you have to be tough to be kind in the end, and the kindest thing you can do is to crack down on people smuggling. That means as soon as you come across a human trafficking boat, you stop it and take it back to where it came from.”
