- (General Dispatch) – Institutions have been opened in The Hague in order to hold the election polls, people will be able to exercise their right to vote, even though they are going through the pandemic.
- According to the polls have been extended for more than 3 days due to measures that have been implemented to prevent the spread of COVID 19, people must attend with the respective biosecurity measures.
- Now, in the political arena, the opposition parties have criticized the current government for not having successful results in the management of the pandemic, without an effective development in terms of medical care and immunizations.
- On the other hand, the few candidates have not proposed post-pandemic projects, to evaluate the development of the Low Countries, and how to lift the economy after the disastrous results left by the virus worldwide.
- The voting is taking place despite the fact that the Netherlands has been one of the countries with the highest infection rates, with a mortality rate of more than 16,000 people per COVID 19 with a population of 17 million inhabitants.
- According to one study the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy, or VVD, led by Prime Minister Mark Rutte, may win the elections as it is backed by 150 representatives of the lower house of parliament, thus creating a new governing board.
- In the previous generalizations the first days of voting will be destined for the elderly because they represent the most vulnerable population before the covid 19, another way to do it is through mail.
- For the younger population new hygienic measures were included to exercise the vote, being able to do it through their cars or bicycles, any tool used to mark the ballot may be discarded.
