- (General Dispatch) – White House Secretary Jen Psaki supports the Biden administration’s decision to send a large batch of vaccines to Canada and Mexico, after a large number of Americans are waiting for the injection.
- According to the secretary such measures “Ensure that our neighbors can contain the virus is a critical step for any pandemic” what Psaki ignores is that citizens must be prioritized.
- According to a Reuters report, the U.S. expects to send 4 million vaccines from the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, of which 1.5 million will be distributed to Canada and 2.5 million to Mexico.
- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration have not yet approved the vaccine to be administered to citizens after some reports of possible side effects of “blood clotting”.
- Following these incidents there are countries that have approved the injection of the vaccine, after most British people have been immunized with AstraZeneca, cases of blood clots have been minimal to the number of people who have been inoculated.
- Psaki said that vaccines are being sent to countries in need and affirmed that the shipment to Mexico had nothing to do with the migration crisis facing the border.
- On the other hand, Psaki said that the respective PCR tests are being applied at the border to detect the Chinese coronavirus in immigrants, but declined to issue any information about the release of positive immigrants in U.S. territory.
