Next Marvel Comics’ Captain America Belongs to the LGBTQ Community

  • By Jennifer Prill
  • (General Dispatch) – For the commemoration of its 80th anniversary Marvel Comics designs a gay Captain America with a nose ring, who will be a faithful activist for the LGBTQ community.
  • With the purpose of “representing the oppressed and forgotten”. Marvel renews Captain America, who was introduced in 1941, for a new version, where the young man will be named Aaron Foster, a gay man.
  • The series consists of very short chapters, where all Captain America are reunited in one episode. The launch is expected to be in June to coincide with Gay Pride month.
  • Aaron is inspired by the heroes of the queer community: activists, leaders and ordinary people fighting for a better life,” explained backup writer Joshua Trujillo.
  • The writer was grateful for the opportunity to be able to develop this series that makes him proud to be the transgender person he is, and the accomplishments he has achieved.
  • Undoubtedly, an honor for the LGBTQ community to be included in a story of so many years on the screens, and in many homes around the world.
  • In relation to this topic, it is admirable that a community so beaten and marginalized for years is represented as human beings who also have feelings and can achieve their goals regardless of their preferences.
  • Members of the LGBTQ community happily await the premiere of the series that pays tribute to all those people who have fought for their rights and who today have a place in society.
