- (General Dispatch) – China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs carried out the vaccination of 150 foreign journalists as a way of letting the world know that its vaccine has a high efficacy rate.
- Although doctors were upset by such an action, they said that immunization campaigns in China have been delayed after they set a goal of vaccinating a large percentage of the population.
- A Japanese journalist said that this seems to be propaganda in order to divert the true information about Chinese vaccines; the Global Times celebrated it as a great achievement and wanted to show it to the international community.
- Foreign Ministry representative Hua Chunying said the immunizations were performed after the reporters feared for his health, and asked for the ministry’s help so they could give him the Chinese vaccine.
- The Japanese reporter asked Hua about the real purpose of these vaccinations and she replied “Some may worry that China may be trying to do this to promote itself. Therefore, you should note that we did not make shots or reports about vaccinating foreign journalists.”
- Hua said that if it receives more foreign journalists China will be willing to offer them the vaccine for free, According to the Global Times the Asian country allegedly wiped out the Wuhan coronavirus.
- The Global Times has said that the vaccination campaign has increased from 1 million to 3 million immunized per day, something totally contradictory to what one of the doctors had reported.
- On the other hand, the media said that the only problem that may arise is the shortage of doses, but that for now they have kept a large number of vaccines because citizens have not seen the need to apply the dose, as they have stated that the real danger of COVID 19 has dissipated.
