- (General Dispatch) – Democrat Bruno Lozano, who serves as mayor in the Texas City of Del Rio, has sent a letter to President Biden, asking for some solution to the serious crisis at the border.
- Mayor Lozano complained and said through the New York Times “He has a breach in national security levels that has never been seen before in modern history and he doesn’t even flinch, he doesn’t even call it a ‘crisis’, he calls it a quote-unquote challenge”.
- The city of Del Rio has about 35,000 inhabitants; Lozano said that with this wave of migrants passing through the city he is limited with the resources available to deal with this migratory problem.
- For this reason he is asking the Biden administration to do something about it, to somehow limit the amount of immigrants that are being released into the city, besides the fact that they have been positive about COVID 19.
- Lozano is not against the humanitarian measures being pushed by President Biden, but argued that he should give security to the residents who cast their vote for him to take office as mayor.
- On the other hand Lozano affirmed that they are releasing around 150 migrants that they leave in humanitarian facilities that are not in conditions to house large numbers, after that they transfer them to the terminals so they can take a bus back home, which they do not do.
- Lozano said with an annoyed tone “There is this policy in which illegal entry is pardoned, criminal activity is pardoned, these migrants are using the cartels to cross Mexico and that is a fact and organized criminal activity is increasing because of that”.
- For that reason he is waiting for a prompt response from the Biden administration to avoid these problems that are occurring in his city.
