Decision to Halt Wall Construction Issued by Joe Biden to Be Investigated

  • By Jennifer Prill
  • (General Dispatch) –  The executive order issued by Joe Biden that prevents the construction of a border wall will be investigated by the Government Accountability Office, after freezing the economic resources destined for the work.
  • It should be noted that the Republican senators requested the GAO to investigate the alteration of the funds previously allocated by Congress, amounting to 1.4 billion dollars approved in December.
  • Republican Senator Roy Blunt, through a press release, informed that it is the Senate’s obligation to authorize the expenditure of money and that its distribution be equitable and efficient.
  • It should be noted that the same Republicans have criticized Biden’s decision to paralyze the resources destined to the construction of the wall, as well as the pulverization of the effective policies achieved in the Trump administration.
  • However, they also blame the profound alteration that the southern border of the country is experiencing, with the policies implemented by Biden after his arrival to power.
  • Surprisingly, among the statements offered in the communiqué, the call for attention to the White House administration to consider the steps it is executing stood out.
  • In this way, it is totally notorious that a few days after assuming the presidency, the current administration incurs in decisions that violate the rights enshrined in the Magna Carta, which in fact worries the Republicans themselves.
  • It is expected that the investigation will determine the exact destination of the economic resources detained, as well as whether the current president has committed violations that require sanctions.
