- (General Dispatch) – Three teachers are under investigation and have been suspended after showing caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad while teaching minors about “blasphemy”.
- A 29-year-old teacher who taught religion classes was suspended by the institution’s authorities after students accused her of using Muhammad as an example, being an offense to those who profess the Muslim religion.
- Although the school authorities apologized to the parents, the West Yorkshire police expressed concern for the safety of the teacher’s family members.
- On the other hand, two more teachers are under police custody for their safety, apart from being suspended from the educational institution for being aware that classes involving Mohammed are offensive to some students.
- The Daily Mail media outlet claimed that the teachers had previously used the Prophet Muhammad in their classes to teach blasphemy classes, but this type of teaching was not authorized.
- The identification of the two teachers is being kept under anonymity to avoid further conflict; such measures have been taken after teacher Samuel Paty was killed by a Muslim radical for carrying out this type of teaching.
- The 29-year-old teacher’s father told the media in an interview that his son will not be able to return to work or reside in Batley, as it would be extremely dangerous for him and his family.
- After the events, the Muslim community has been holding protests outside the institution; the school authorities will maintain the investigations and stated that it will change the curriculum to avoid this type of incidents.
