- (General Dispatch) – A survey conducted by Rasmussen Reports this week stated that less than 50% of respondents view the implementation of the “vaccine passport” in the US as positive.
- White House Secretary Jen Psaki reported that they are working with several private software companies to develop the vaccine passport even though citizens disapprove of it.
- Rasmussen asked a basic question in the survey whether it was a good or bad idea to require a certificate as a requirement for people to access goods or services everywhere.
- As a result, 44% support the idea, 41% disapprove and 15% are undecided, the margin between good or bad is almost similar, obtaining a margin of error of 3% of the sample.
- Republicans have expressed discomfort with the measure, confirming that it could promote discrimination against those who have not been immunized.
- The Democrats are not evaluating the opinion of the people, the black community disapproves of the measure by 50%, the white community agrees with the same opinion by 40%.
- Psaki affirmed that people’s data will not be stored in a central system for everyone, even though the Cuomo administration has already taken the initiative to implement it in the state of New York.
- “Excelsior Pass will play a critical role in getting information to locations and sites in a secure and streamlined manner, allowing us to accelerate the reopening of these businesses and move us one step closer to achieving a new normal,” said Governor Andrew Cuomo.
