Facebook: Virtual Platform Through Which Traffickers Advertise 100% Guaranteed Border Crossings

• (General Dispatch) – Everything seems to indicate that the Facebook platform is serving as an information channel between human traffickers and immigrants. Establishing offers of guarantees and security at border crossings.

• Following the information released by NBC News, Facebook serves as an ideal mechanism where human traffickers openly publish the offer of a trip from Mexico to the United States for only $8,000.

• It should be noted that the criminal groups intend to swindle people who, in their desire to cross the border, believe in the proposal and lose absolutely all their savings.

• The publications have managed to persuade people, other newspapers of the nation have also made reference to the news that this week is at the forefront of the media.

• Likewise, the various advertisements have also managed to attract people’s attention, emphasizing in one of their offers that the person can cancel once he/she is in U.S. territory. 

• In essence, this mechanism is booming because human traffickers have managed to capture people who are later exposed to countless risks according to the objective of the gang, whether prostitution, drug trafficking or other illicit acts.

• For its part, “Facebook told NBC News that it does not allow publications that promote exploitation and human trafficking. They say they remove all such posts when users flag them. NBC said Facebook removed all the posts they flagged.”
