Illegal Immigrants Stay in the U.S. Thanks to Biden’s “Sanctuary Country”

  • By Steph. G. Halston.
  • (General Dispatch) –  Currently, the border crisis has become more complicated after the measures implemented by the Biden administration, reducing the number of deportations of illegal immigrants.
  • The “sanctuary country” has been the law that has limited the deportation of illegal immigrants, unless the offenders have a recent record from their country of origin, are identified terrorists or gang members.
  • Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) revealed figures of the policies Biden has implemented reducing deportation by more than 50%, further complicating the situation with border authorities.
  • Currently the number of detainees held by ICE authorities has decreased by 1900 in the month of February, compared to the previous administration of President Trump, where the number of detainees was 4400 the same month.
  • On the other hand, ICE authorities affirmed that they are holding more than 13500 immigrants in detention, numbers that have worried several Republicans due to the health crisis that is being caused by the covid-19.
  • One of the major limitations of the ICE authorities is that in order to deport illegal immigrants they must obtain the approval of the White House, something that has complicated the situation.
  • However, the cities of Florida, Arizona and Montana are developing an offensive project against Biden’s policies, since federal immigration law is being violated, while Biden allows illegal immigrants to enter the country without any kind of process.
