  • By Anton Grillo
  • (General Dispatch) –   After the announcement of Prince Philip’s death at the age of 99, several nations immediately sent their condolences to Queen Elizabeth II, but the White House took hours to do so.
  • Although London is an important ally for the United States, it seems that President Biden did not give much importance to the death of the prince, after the announcement in the early hours of Friday morning.
  • Leaders who issued their condolences immediately upon the announcement of his death included Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Italian President Sergio Mattarella, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Russian President Vladimir Putin, among others.
  • Even other US political figures issued their condolences before Biden, former President George W Bush and the Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi.
  • On the other hand, criticism from Britain has already been announced. “While world leaders offer the Queen their condolences for the death of Prince Philip, there is not a word from the President of the United States or his Vice President,” said Brexit leader Farage.
  • The white house issued Biden’s condolences at 11:10 am, the lady of the white house Jill Biden through a statement only recounted the short experience with Queen Elizabeth II, but assured that she had not shared with Prince Philip.
  • For now, the royal palace is waiting to inform the protocol to be followed for the burial of Prince Philip in spite of the pandemic.
