- (General Dispatch) – Eastern Ukraine has been a conflict zone, where it may be a protagonist of large-scale military actions if the Ukrainian government does not abide by the Kremlin’s orders.
- “There is a concern that the Ukrainian civil war will resume. And if a civil war with large-scale military activities resumes near our borders, it will pose a threat to Russia’s national security, “ Dmitry Peskov said.
- The Ukrainian government has denounced Russia’s force to the international community claiming that President Putin is meddling in the nation’s internal affairs apart from supporting rebel groups with weaponry.
- Although other leaders such as Chancellor Angela Merkel directly asked President Putin to desist from the military move, the Kremlin leader responded in a dismissive manner that he “could do whatever he wanted on Russian territory”.
- Different analysts gave their opinion through Fox News assuring that they were surprised by a military move of Russia in Ukraine; something that they believed would not take place, and warned that it could be a way for Putin to show military strength before the USA.
- The BBC media released a message from a senior Russian official who confirmed that a military incursion into eastern Ukraine is possible, to defend his countrymen if they come under attack.
- Dmitry Kozak warned the Turkish government not to take any action, as they could be harmed.
- This conflict has escalated since Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula to Russian territory in 2014; however Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has told the media that the ceasefire agreement has not been fulfilled, where Ukrainian servicemen have been killed by rebels in Donbass.
- For now the U.S. will follow the conflict, sending two warships to monitor the conflict who are sailing through the Bosporus Strait into the Black Sea.
