Three Chicago Cubs Relief Pitchers Affected by Covid-19

- (General Dispatch) – The Chicago Cubs team is once again affected as bullpen coach Chris Young and three relief pitchers join the injured list for covid-19.
- After ongoing health checks due to the pandemic, the team tested on Monday with Dan Winkler, Brandon Workman, and Jason Adam all testing positive for covid-19.
- The pitchers had been called up as replacements for their bullpen in upcoming games.
- Of note, Wieck and Steele starred in the Cubs’ 6-3 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday in Milwaukee.
- Meanwhile, Steele allowed one hit, two strikeouts and one walk to the Brewers in one inning.
- In addition, during the games the team has tested each of the players, with first baseman Craig Driver also testing positive for covid-19.
- Cubs’ manager David Ross indicated to the press on Monday that the players will leave to comply with biosecurity protocols for a few weeks.
- In summary, the Cubs are scheduled to face the Brewers again this Tuesday at 7:40pm.
