- (General Dispatch) – Despite various studies and follow-ups that have been done on the vaccines, the pharmaceutical company Sinopharm argues that its Phase III clinical trials show that its vaccine has 72.51% efficacy in preventing coronavirus infection.
- The percentage given by the Sinopharm vaccine is higher than the Coronavac vaccine produced by Sinovac, which is 50.38%. Even so, it is still below the vaccines produced in the USA, the Pfizer vaccine being superior with 95% effectiveness.
- The Chinese media have attacked the Pfizer vaccine arguing that it is not good enough as the U.S. claims, so they will opt for the Coronavac vaccine which they believe is superior in quality to the U.S. vaccine.
- The Global Times explains that for Sinopharm’s vaccine to be 72.51% effective, a second dose is required. The creation of the vaccine has used different methods compared to pfizer and modern methods that use an mRNA process.
- According to the global times the Sinopharm vaccine when applying the second dose creates antibodies with high titers in the recipients in 99%, then the partners of Sinopharm in Brazil applied the second dose for patients who had 72% referred to mild cases, giving as a final result that it was 50% overall.
- American companies through their clinical studies show that the vaccines they produce are more effective than the Chinese ones, the vaccine produced by modern has 94% and the one produced by Pfizer has 95%, these results are obtained by applying the second dose.
- Applying the first dose of pfizer and modern has 83% efficacy according to the May clinic, this is on par with studies conducted in Sheba, Tel Aviv yielding 75% effectiveness in a time interval of 2 to 4 weeks.
- Currently the USA is manufacturing a third vaccine with the company Johnson & Johnson of New Jersey with 66% efficacy, unlike the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, this one does not require so many strict temperature controls, being the third most favorable option.
