  • By Wayne Rodrigo
  • (General Dispatch) – Marion Lewis, 18, will stand trial for the first-degree murder of Jaslyn Adams, a 7-year-old girl, in addition to facing other charges.
  • Authorities issued a report that other subjects are involved in the murder of the girl, although Lewis attempted to get out on bail, the judge denied any attempt at release altogether.
  • The Associated Press reported details of the murder, where Lewis was driving a car behind the father and child’s car, but it appears that the two fugitives who remain at large opened fire on him.
  • The bullet impacts managed to reach the girl, despite the efforts of the police officers to try to take her as quickly as possible to a hospital center, Jaslyn Adams arrived without vital signs, the father fortunately managed to survive despite being affected.
  • “The other two suspects in the April 18 killing of Jaslyn Adams have been identified by police, but have not been charged, prosecutors said,” the Associated Press said.
  • Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown issued a message to the two remaining fugitives: “We will bring them to justice for this crime. The Adams family deserves no less.”
  • Now, the great debate that has been generated is about this type of situation, what is the position of Black Lives Matter when the murders are carried out by black people, so far the activist group has not been pronounced.
  • The Democratic governor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot, only referred to the incident as a problem of “gun violence” leaving aside the racial issue, and without giving any solution to reduce such incidents.
