- (General Dispatch) – An investigation by a US intelligence unit revealed that the Russian nation earmarked money to influence the 2020 elections, according to which the Kremlin was in favor of candidate Trump unlike China and Iran that tried to affect it.
- The investigation was revealed on March 10 by the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), arguing that other nations (Lebanese Hezbollah, Cuba and Venezuela) were also influencing Trump’s candidacy to lose.
- According to one part of the submitted report it said “Iran conducted a multi-pronged covert influence campaign aimed at undermining former President Trump’s re-election prospects, while not directly promoting his rivals, undermining public confidence in the electoral process.”
- There was even some false information about Biden, who had on his portable device business dealings he had conducted with the Chinese Communist Party to further his candidacy.
- Cliff Sims former Director of National Intelligence said that Iran was conducting a campaign where they had evidence of influence on political parties, candidacy development, voters, among other processes of the elections.
- It should be noted that the report only talked about influences from these countries to change the opinion of the voters about the candidates, but it is assumed that there was no direct interference of any kind.
- However, the results of the 2020 elections will remain under investigation after a large number of votes were not disclosed, leaving it to the imagination which candidate they favored.
