China Warns Turkish President

  • By William Silgueiro
  • (General Dispatch) –  The Beijing government has sent a warning to Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğand called on him to limit the actions of anti-communist groups after blaming China for crimes against the Uyghurs.
  • Meral Aksener, head of the Nationalist Good Party (IYI), and the mayor of Ankara, Mansur Yavas have sent messages via twitter denouncing the crimes being committed by the CCP in the Xinjiang region.
  • On the other hand, they have recalled the crimes committed by the Chinese authorities in 1990 in protests by the Uyghur ethnic group.
  • Such information was a way for the CCP to initiate a persecution against the ethnic group, and the international community began to follow up on the human rights crimes being committed by the Chinese government.
  • However, the creation of concentration camps has been a clear proof of innumerable denouncements made by the ethnic group about violent acts being committed, from castrations to rapes.
  • The Chinese embassy presented annoyance at the messages of the Turkish officials and responded via twitter “The Chinese side resolutely opposes and strongly condemns any challenge by any person or power to China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Chinese side reserves the right to a legitimate response. The Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region is an integral part of Chinese territory. This is an indisputable and internationally accepted fact.”
  • Turkey’s foreign ministry summoned the Chinese ambassador to lower political tensions, following messages that had been made by Meral Aksener and Mansur Yavas.
  • The journalist Erkin Oncan criticized the Turkish officials, saying that they defend the Uyghur ethnic group without knowing the facts.
