Gun Control Policy Diverts Attention from Immigration Crisis

  • By Joergen Haisem
  • (General Dispatch) – The Biden administration is taking a strategic approach in attempting to enforce gun control policy, leaving aside the ongoing crisis with border authorities.
  • Following President Biden’s announcement of a ban on the use of assault rifles, a request that several advocacy groups maintain, and the elimination of certain privileges held by gun manufacturers.
  • Biden’s proposed measures caused various media outlets, including reporters at the White House, to take no interest in the immigration crisis.
  • The media have revealed alarming data, in the month of March alone, more than 170,000 illegal immigrants have tried to enter the country, and 18,663 minors without their representative, an uncontrolled increase compared to the previous administration.
  • White House Secretary Jen Psaki deflected all information about the border, and focused on giving information about the projects that the Biden administration wants to implement to increase non-polluting energy.
  • President Biden’s previous messages said about the crisis at the beginning of the year “It happens every single year alone: there is a significant increase in the number of people arriving at the border in the winter months of January, February and March. That happens every year.”
  • Vice President Kamala Harris has no plans in her schedule to address the border, for now her effort has been applied to the vaccine campaign and Biden’s infrastructure project.
  • While border agents are keeping up with the burden of the constant influx of illegal immigrants, senior White House officials are busy implementing other laws, oblivious to the consequences of illegal immigrant entry.
