  • (General Dispatch) – The Academy is gearing up to host the customary Oscar Awards, this time under a totally different format due to the covid-19 pandemic.
  • Steven Soderbergh, Stacey Sher, and Jesse Collins are working together to dazzle viewers at the upcoming awards ceremony. The award show will not be in the format of a program, but as a movie.
  • The show that will air this April 25 on ABC will not have the usual audience, due to the restrictive biosecurity measures because of covid-19.
  • This time around, producers will be putting a wide creative scope on the line in order to develop the installment and meet the expectations that both nominees and audiences eagerly await each year.
  • Soderbergh described the next installment as a challenge that will serve to break paradigms and enjoy new options to entertain artists and the general public.
  • Audience levels are expected to be a little lower than the last broadcast, which had a total audience of 23.6 million viewers.
  • Screenwriters, producers, directors, actors and other members involved in the seventh art deeply regret not being able to congregate at the venue to develop the delivery.
  • However, the Academy is technically prepared to face this new challenge under a new and different format on April 25.
