In Response to Joe Biden’s Sanctions, Russia Expels Ten U.S. Diplomats

  • By Wayne Rodrigo
  • (General Dispatch) – This Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry informed that according to the new sanctions imposed by the United States, they will also expel ten diplomats from the North American country.
  • It also claims that Moscow will take measures to shut down American non-governmental organizations operating in Russia in order to end U.S. meddling in its policies.
  • The measures also include banning at least eight diplomats from accessing Moscow, including U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray, among others.
  • It should be noted that the dispute arises after the US issued a set of sanctions against Russia, after having tried several ways to maintain an effective communication with Vladimir Putin.
  • However, although Russia has decreed this series of actions against the United States, Moscow does not have the political and economic power to affect the American nation.
  • On the other hand, President Joe Biden, despite having imposed a series of sanctions, keeps on the table the proposal to negotiate with Russia. But it will be Moscow who will make the decision.
  • Evidently, the economic sanctions imposed by the US represent for Russia a blunt threat, since the financial institutions will not be able to negotiate.
  • To conclude, it can be inferred that the diplomatic confrontations between both nations have not yet culminated, the interests of each country are well structured and Russia does not cooperate with the dialogue.
