United Kingdom Declares to Overtake the European Union in the Covid-19 Vaccine Convention

  • By Joergen Haisem
  • (General Dispatch) –  According to information provided by Matt Hancock, the British Health Secretary, the agreement with AstraZeneca is much stronger than the one with the European Union.
  • Companies such as AstraZeneca are strictly committed to the European Union to guarantee the supply of vaccines.
  • For its part, the European Union alleges that the United Kingdom is denying its population access to the coronavirus vaccine, prioritizing its interests.
  • This rhetoric has forced the UK to seek more effective agreements to meet the demand for immunizations among its members.
  • However, trade treaties ensure that the UK has established a contract with AstraZeneca and other companies, which is why they are demanding that the immunizations be supplied to them first.
  • It appears that the delays in delivery to the UK are due to bureaucratic processes that the company has had to deal with.
  • Von der Leyen and other Eurocrats have tried to accuse the pharmaceutical company of dishonest practice or punish Britain with their threat to ban exports by demanding that drugs manufactured in the UK under UK contract be shipped to Europe.
  • Finally, the pharmaceutical company will have to comply with the established agreements and give priority to the United Kingdom, without neglecting distribution to the European Union. Therefore, it will have to increase its production.
